Another design for a new tower to be located at the World Trade Center site has been unveiled. That building, known as WTC 5, is a 40-storey glass and steel tower designed by Kohn Pederson Fox. The building, which will be the headquarters for the investment firm J.P. Morgan Chase, will replace the troubled Deutsche Bank building that was damaged in 2001 by the terrorist attacks and again this year by a fire that occurred during the building’s dismantling. The design of the new tower has drawn criticism from the public, particularly the residents of Lower Manhattan. At issue is the building’s cantilever, which consists of seven large trading floors that will jut out over an adjacent church and park. The concern is that the cantilever will cast a large shadow over the site for much of the day. But that concern was recently quelled by lead architect, Eugene Kohn, who told residents at a local community meeting that a shadow study conducted by his firm shows that the shadows of greatest concern to the site are actually caused by the surrounding WTC buildings yet to be built WTC 5 will house 1.3 million square feet of space. The building is scheduled for completion in 2013.

Quejarse de que en Manhattan un edificio te da sombra es cuanto menos para echarse a reir.

El diseño del edificio me gusta, a pesar de ser un poquito soso (salvo el balcón de siete plantas). Y lo de los jardines ya empieza a ser repetitivo. Un poquito de imaginación, por favor.

Así a primeras me parece poca cosa para Nueva York, pero no por ello me desagrada.

Opino lo mismo

Opino igual, ese edificio no es original ni va a destacar ni nada. Una ciudad como NY se come con patatas algo así.

En otro sitio sería más relevante, pero en N.Y. ...

Parece que tiene un "cajón" con un jardin.

Es diferente de lo que estamos acostumbrados a ver. Me gusta.

Es lo que digo yo por lo menos hay algo que debatir porque aquí nos conocemos todos los proyectos y solo habrá 10 en toda España que nos llamen la atención
