4. J.L. Hudson Department Store, Detroit, 1927-1998 (tallest portion was constructed in 1946). Imploded in 1998 because it became severely decrepit (the tallest building ever to be imploded). 439 feet 2 floors
5. National City Bank Building, New York City, 1928-????. demolished for unknown reasons because I do not know the building much. 433 feet 32 floors.
6. State Office Block, Sydney, 1965-1998. Demolished to make way for Aurora Place. 420 feet 32 floors
7. Savoy Plaza Hotel, New York City, 1930-1964. Demolished to make way for General Motors Building
8. CAGA House, Sydney, 1977-1992. Demolished for unknown reasons other than to make way for the Governor MacQuarrie Tower. 410 feet 30 floors.
9. First National Bank, Pittsburgh, 1912-1970. Demolished to make way for One PNC Plaza. 387 feet 26 floors
10. Hanover National Bank, New York City, 1903-1931. Demolished to make way for expansion of 40 Wall. 385 feet 22 floors.

los edificios demolidos en NYC o Chicago fueron demolidos en la decada de los 60, período en que lo antiguo no tenía valor,difícilmente hoy se podría demoler un rascacielos de los años 20 y 30.

Tienen un valor arquitectonico y artistico muy superior a las moles de cristal posteriores.
Parecía que ya habías hecho todos los reportajes posibles de rascacielos y una vez más nos vuelves a sorprender![]()

Yo leí en la guía de NY que cuando tiraron un edificio que gustaba mucho se empezó a hacer la ley de protección. Alguien podría poner una foto de ese rascacielos? Está en la lista?

La verdad es que había algunos rascacielos que si que merecían ser demolidos xD
Me da mucha pena los más antiguos porque tenían un aspecto sensacional (el singer y otros de antes de 1900)
Aprovechen a que se carguen las páginas del foro para revisar sus contactos del messenger, encontrarán que han malgastado su preciado tiempo y paciencia en conocer a un montón de ineptos. No se corten, hagan click y bórrenlos.

Estoy de acuerdo contigo en que el WTC quedaba mejor, pero no creo que casí ningun edificio de los que aparecen aquí merecieran ser demolidos, más que nada por la época en la que se construyeron y porque representan el despegue de la construcción vertical, sobre todo aquellos que se encontraban en NYC
