New Tokyo Tower (新東京タワー, Shin Tōkyō Tawā?) (currently referred to as New Tower) is a proposed broadcasting tower in Sumida, Tokyo, Japan. If completed as planned, New Tower will be the tallest artificial structure in Japan at 610.58 m (2,003 ft) tall. The present Tokyo Tower (333 m) is not tall enough for complete broadcasting coverage since the construction of many high rise buildings in the central part of the metropolis.

The New Tower planning is being led by a group of six terrestrial broadcasters, led by public broadcaster NHK, who plan to complete construction of the tower by December 2011. The completed structure will be the highlight of a massive commercial development around Oshiage Station.

The New Tower is designed to have graceful curves similar to samurai swords and traditional Japanese buildings so that it does not detract from the surrounding scenery. The base of the tower has a structure similar to a "tripod", but from a height of about 350 m and above, the tower's structure is cylindrical to withstand very strong winds.

The tower also has state-of-the-art seismic proofing including a central shaft (made of reinforced concrete) developed from five-tier pagodas that have withstood earthquakes for hundreds of years.

During the period from 26 October to 25 November 2007, suggestions are being collected from the general public for the name to be given to the new tower.

On March 19, 2008, the final six possible namings for the New Tokyo Tower were chosen: Tokyo Edo Tower, Tokyo Sky Tree, Mirai Tree, Yume Miyagura, Rising East Tower, and Rising Tower, voted by the residents of Tokyo.

no me gusta, se salva un poco por la altura, pero para mi es como si hubieran usado un render de la torre eiffel en el paint, lo hubieran aplastado y alargado (con el floripondio ese que querian ponerle por su aniversario), y ale, torre "nueva".

aun asi, le doy un 4.

A mi personalmente tampoco me dice mucho... le he dado un 6 porque, bueno, la altura lo merece, pero el diseño no me gusta nada.

A mi lo que mas me sorprende es que ellos ya tienen una torre similar: (Tokio tower)



Y digo similar por no decir identica pero de otro color y diferente altura

pero bueno, la antigua me parece muchisimo mas bonita, incluso me arriesgare a recibir collejas diciendo que a mi me gusta mas que la torre eiffel, lo unico que le haria seria quitarle tanta antena de la parte alta, que no le hacen ningun bonito (ya, ya se que es una torre de telecomunicaciones y tiene que tener antenas )

No soy al único que le ha parecido ver la torre eiffel pero versión cutre (y con el doble de altura)...qué barbaridad!, y tienen como ejemplo la Torre de...(vaya por dió no me sale el nombre...lo busco) Guangzhou TV Tower, que mide 610 metros, XD a estas horas tengo la cabeza...pues eso, que se deberían de haber currado más el diseño que para hacer esto, la CN Tower de Toronto!! yo no le doy el aprobado ni siquiera por la altura...

Pues a mi me encanta , sobretodo por el azul de los cristales.

jejeje ¿te gusta por el azul de los cristales? y ¿si los hubieran puesto de otro color? tiene una forma rara... para mi es que no pegan los arcos que le han puesto abajo con lo cuadriculado que es el resto de la estructura y la forma de la "copa" o lo que sea la zona esa azul.
Guangzhou TV Tower no tiene nada que ver con esto, tiene un diseño muchisimo más bonito, no sé... a mi me parece una torre muchisimo más elegante que esta. De todas formas todo es esperar a que la terminen y opinar sobre torre hecha! jejeje

Creo que no se me entendió anoche, con lo de la Guangzhou Tower quise decir que me parece ahora mismo el mejor diseño para una torre de este tipo (o si no el clásico diseño de toda la vida), y que me parece asombroso que hagan algo como la Sumida Tower. Es que no me gusta nada.
La parte superior me recuerda a un collar isabelino...
